Appearance

Though Evianne has a naturally short frame, years spent as an archer and climber have built firm, toned muscle in her shoulders and arms. Her light skin has no lack of markings, from the freckles dusted over her nose and cheeks to a few scars on her body, most noticeably a set of three jagged slashes that rake across her back. She favors clothing both simple and elegant. Though she prefers practical clothing, she won't turn away from gowns when the occasion calls for them. The woman spends equal time in both skirts and pants; no matter the outfit she likes to keep a sleek and stylish appearance, favoring colors such as black, green, and blue.

Personality

Strengths:

Courageous - Evianne is a woman that trusts her own abilities, and she won't hesitate to put herself in danger. Perhaps she lives for the thrill, but even when the stakes aren't too high, she has no shortage of spirit.

Perceptive - After years of living among nobility and attending balls to eavesdrop and dig up secrets, Evianne developed keen sight and hearing. These senses have helped ensure her success as a huntress, markswoman, and scout.

Very Loyal - Her full trust may be hard to win, but when you do win it? She'll go through the seven hells and back for you.

Amiable - When she doesn't have to put a mask on in her noble dealings, she possesses a genuine, warm air around her. She'll often hide her affection behind teasing, but she's pleasant company most of the time.

Weaknesses:

Obsessive - Whether it's a person or an object, when Evianne fixates her mind on something, she won't let go of it, no matter what. She was obsessed with finding her sister before, and now, she's obsessed with finding the truth behind her father's death.

Nosey - She has a tendency to eavesdrop and listen in on others' business, even if it has nothing to do with her. Intentional or not, she tries to collect as much information as she possibly can.

Emotionally Guarded - It's difficult for Evianne to allow herself to show her vulnerability, especially around others that she does not yet trust. She isn't stoic, but she often hides her inner turmoil through lies of omission.

Jealous - She's very much prone to jealousy when someone seems to be doing better than she is. This can lead to her making undue judgments of others, made with artificial assumptions and contempt.

OOC Info

Mateus (Crystal) - EST - 21+ - he/him - kai#0004 (Discord)

I'm a bi trans man and a recent college graduate preparing to get a job as a programmer! I enjoy writing and RPing in FFXIV, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. My posts are typically one to two paragraphs long, but I can mirror who I'm RPing with to an extent.I'm usually available in the afternoons and evenings and can go earlier/later on weekends. I do have a raiding static and a FC that I need to commit to, but I'm glad to work around those and find a time that works for both of us!Dos:

  • Both ingame and Discord RP

  • Character development and long-term plots

  • Adventure, action, conflict, intrigue! I can enjoy slice-of-life RP in moderation, but I need variety.

  • Organic character relationships (whether they be friends, lovers, enemies, etc.)

  • Lore-friendly RP! Lore bending is alright, if it's written in a compelling way that makes sense.

  • Pre-established relationships - let me know on Discord and we can talk! I value them as opportunities to drive more RP between our characters, when done right.

Don'ts:

  • RPers under 18

  • OOC romantic relationships / flirting

  • Onscreen non-con or gore described in excessive detail

  • Excessive OOC bleed (My character's opinion of your character doesn't reflect my opinion of you.)

  • Permanent death/maiming of my characters (unless I give explicit OOC permission)

  • ERP for the sake of ERP (I don't want to get off or help someone else get off. I just want to tell a good story, and ERP can aid in that when it has a purpose!)

My other characters:
- Kai Tsurugi
- Vallerin Tremont
- Aron Royce

Hooks / Rumors

If you have anything else in mind, or none of these hooks suit your purposes, please feel free to bring it up to me! I'd be glad to plot and work with you.

Hooks:

  • Viscountess: Ishgardian nobles may have seen and/or met her growing up, either in and around the Pillars or at a ball. She just recently inherited the title of Viscountess from her mother. House Volane is known for its social influence; Evi can be a powerful ally for other Houses!

  • Fellow Ishgardians: Even if you aren't a noble, Evianne spends plenty of time around Ishgard and Coerthas, and can meet your character there!

  • The Unseen: Evianne is a skilled self-trained markswoman and scout. Her work ranges from straightforward hunts to more delicate infiltration jobs and espionage. If you need to gather information on someone in a discreet manner, you could hire her.

  • Relic Hunter: If you need someone to retrieve a relic from a dangerous tomb or ruin, or from some smugglers, she'd be glad to assist! Her only limitation is that she won't work on large expeditions unless absolutely necessary.

  • Archaeologist: Evianne is a new name in the Eorzean archaeology circle. Though her father's farfetched theories have brought some to question her capabilities, she already has a few discoveries under her name, including the discovery of an Ishgardian saint's long-lost crypt. If you read archaeology papers, perhaps you recognized her or her father's name?

Rumors:

  • "I heard that many years ago, she was bethrothed to a young lord. It wasn't even a few days afterwards that he boy was murdered in the Pillars. Now, I'm not saying it was her doing, but I wouldn't put it past a young lady that values her freedom as much as she does..." - Jeweled Crozier Shopper

  • "Volane? Her father was a disgrace to the field. His papers were little more than wild theories; in my opinion, he should have simply retired after that dragon took his leg." -Opinionated Archeologist

  • "I would be quite careful around her, if I were you. Her mother is quite the calculating woman, and such things are wont to run in the blood." -Firmament Worker

  • "You think her mother stepped down because of age? Hah! We all know that Lady Violette loved her power. The new Viscountess must have given her a strong incentive to give it up, if you know what I mean." -Drunk Nobleman

History

test

1. DIVIDE

Evianne de Volane was born into a divided House. Her father, a former Knight Convictor named Almaux, was one of the few Convictors to have earned glory and a title: after a dragon crippled him soon afterwards, he was content to pursue his passion of archeology. On the other hand, Evianne's mother, Violette, was an ambitious woman. Before Evianne became a woman grown, Violette had her daughter's path charted: she would teach her to become the perfect noble daughter, and marry her off to a higher House to further her own ends. With the firstborn, Lisette, set to inherit, Evianne was very much a pawn. And so, she became a girl torn between two parents. Violette desired most of her attention for her needlework and etiquette classes, but Evianne was always more drawn to her father's kindness and spirit. He showed her his work, shared his theories as he trained her to use the bow. It was inevitable that she ended up idolizing him. She wanted to become a knight as he had been, putting her at even greater odds with her mother.

2. RUIN

Their relationship worsened when Evianne's father was found dead in his office. The Holy See ruled it a suicide. Evianne's mother believed it, but Evianne knew better. He was an infamous figure in Ishgardian archeology, putting forth farfetched theories on ancient magics, but he had never flagged or shown signs of despair. Not when he was so close to finding the truth...She was convinced that someone else wanted him dead. As a young girl, though, she had no power, and so she had to live under her mother's thumb as she made countless betrothals for her. Evianne ended almost all of them with her own efforts, save for the last one: the oldest son of an esteemed chocobo breeder was found dead in a stable, next to a shaken Evianne. She divulged little about the incident, but relations within her House soon fell to ruin then. Her sister, Lisette, disappeared, and Evianne soon followed.

3. DISCOVERY

It wasn't until Evianne left Ishgard that she discovered herself. In the few years that she was away, she worked as a hunter and mercenary, honing her skills. Encountering new cultures and individuals broadened her horizons, and exploring ruins as a treasure hunter inspired the love for history her father had implanted within her.She could have easily stayed away from Ishgard, living a life on her own terms. But after a few years, every little thing reminded her of home. Every ruin reminded her of her father, and every hint of Ishgard inspired pangs of homesickness. She felt a resolve to return, to steer her House in the right direction. Her experiences awakened her bravery and resolve, and so, years after the Calamity she returned to her city, to the mother she so hated.

4. DUTY

Returning to Ishgard after so much change was strange, but almost comforting to Evianne. Her troubles weren't over, though. Her mother clung to her power as Baroness as strongly as Evianne clung to her own ideals. It took nearly two years of struggling before Violette made a mistake while earning the elevation to Viscountess, a mistake that Evianne was able to exploit. She never thought that she would possess the title of Viscountess. After her mother stepped down from the position, though, it landed on her head, with all its triumphs and responsibilities. Now, as she manages her House with a returned Lisette, she's shifted her attention to finally pursuing the truth behind her father's death. Though she stepped into the field of archeology to honor him, she still has a long road ahead of her, one that may not even lead to the truth. Will she ever find the truth? Will she ever truly honor her father? She isn't sure, but she chose to walk this road. Even if it may be her death, she won't falter.
